Enriching Experiences Beyond the Classroom
Every child at Mukmin Academy follows the same daily rhythm, and the year is built around it. Beyond the classroom timetable there is a calendar of activities that gives children something to look forward to and gives parents something to see.
Some of it is monthly. Every child’s birthday is celebrated, and each month brings a new learning theme that runs through the classroom activities. Curious Chef puts children in front of real ingredients and real steps, which does more for confidence and fine motor skills than a worksheet ever will. Raya and Merdeka are marked properly, and Haji Little Mukmin walks the children through the pilgrimage in a way a four year old can hold on to.
Some of it is yearly. Sports Day gets every child moving in front of their family. School holiday camps keep the routine going through the breaks, which matters more than it sounds for children who lose ground when structure disappears. The year closes with graduation and hi-tea, and the children who are moving on to primary school get a proper send off.
Twice a year the children leave the building on an educational excursion. A bus, somewhere new, and a day that turns into a story they tell for weeks.

Programmes & Assessments
Progress here is not a mystery you find out about at the end of the year.
Every child is assessed against their own starting point rather than against the class. Structured assessments track where a child actually is, and a quarterly progress report puts that in writing for you four times a year, covering academic work and development together.
Between reports, parent-teacher meetings give you the conversation that a report cannot. Day to day, the School2Me app carries attendance, activities and the daily routine straight to your phone, so you know how the day went before you arrive to collect.
For children in their final preschool year, the School Readiness Programme is aimed squarely at the transition into primary school, so the first day of Year One is not the first time your child has met that kind of demand.

Our Facilities
A Safe, Comfortable & Child-Friendly Environment
Mukmin Academy runs from three premises on one street in Wangsa Melawati. Playschool on the ground floor of No. 29, Preschool at No. 29-1, and Special Needs and PPKI at No. 35. Small enough that the teachers know every child by name, close enough that a family with two children in different programmes is not driving across town twice.
Every classroom is fully air-conditioned and carpeted, which matters in Kuala Lumpur and matters more for children who spend a good part of the day on the floor. There is a dedicated canteen area rather than eating at desks, an indoor play area and an indoor playground and gym so that wet weather does not cancel physical activity, and a clean water purifier system throughout.
Two rooms are worth calling out on their own. The sickbay gives an unwell child somewhere quiet to rest while we contact you, instead of sitting in a corner of a busy classroom. The calm room is a quiet space for emotional regulation, and it is used by any child who needs it, not only the children in our special needs programme. A child who can take five minutes somewhere quiet usually comes back and rejoins the day.
On safety, the premises are covered by CCTV monitoring and have emergency stair access. Bathrooms are separate for boys and girls, cleaning and sanitisation is routine rather than occasional, and our campus leaders are CPR trained. Mukmin Academy is compliant with JKM, Bomba and Health Department requirements.
